Siena
Siena is one of the most beautiful art cities in Italy, with its churches, museums and alleyways, which make it a favorite vacation spot.
The city of the Palio is situated in the beautiful Val d'Elsa, the Chianti Hills, Mount Amiata and the Crete Senesi (clay hills of Siena). The city is of a manageable size, and can be explored completely on foot. Siena still has the charm of a medieval town, with narrow streets winding through the heart of the city and its famous Piazza del Campo. Then, of course, there is the Palio, a traditional Italian spectacle that is not to be missed.
Florence
The city of Dante is one of the most fascinating in Italy and in the world. Its art masterpieces, palaces and museums cannot be described - they must be visited. The artistic grandeur of the Tuscan capital is only one of the reasons for spending your vacation in Florence. Fashion, shopping, theater, art exhibits and culture (not only Renaissance) make it an essential tourist destination.
Colle di Val d'Elsa
Colle di Val d'Elsa is divided between the new "Colle Bassa" and the old "Colle Alta" sections. The latter is a charming area that overlooks the surrounding region, with alleyways, small piazzas and typical restaurants. Colle is famous for its crystal and its glasswork shops, where you can purchase souvenirs and observe the glass-making process.
San Gimignano
San Gimignano guards the hills between Florence and Siena and rewards visitors with a true step backward into the middle ages. The town was chosen as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of its architectural treasures. It is a delight, with beautiful narrow streets and breathtaking views.
In the surrounding countryside are charming hills where you can admire the enchanting landscape and enjoy peaceful walks.
Monteriggioni
Castello di Monteriggioni is an ancient medieval town dating to the 13th century. It is exceptionally well maintained. Its surrounding wall with 14 towers - unlike any other in Italy - is still intact. It is one of the most delightful places in the area.
